I brought my grandfather's 1960s Omega to Oscillum for their Collector Preservation Service. Ming-Wei contacted me before proceeding with any work, explaining exactly what the movement needed and what could be preserved. The dial patina was maintained beautifully, and they returned the replaced parts in a sealed envelope with a detailed report. This level of care is rare.

My watch had been losing time progressively over several months. The Movement Health Screening identified wear in the keyless works and provided clear recommendations. The screening itself was completed the same day, and the report was written in language I could actually understand. I appreciated not being pressured to immediately commit to a full service — they simply presented the facts and let me decide.

The Thorough Mechanical Overhaul took three weeks, which is longer than some shops quote, but the results speak for themselves. My Jaeger-LeCoultre now runs within two seconds per day across all positions. The service report documented everything that was done, including photos of worn components. The only minor point is I wish they had weekend hours, but the quality of work makes the scheduling worthwhile.

As a collector of vintage Rolex watches, finding a horologist who understands preservation rather than restoration has been challenging. Ai-Ling's approach to my 1967 Explorer was exemplary. She cleaned the case without removing the patina, stabilized the tropical dial without touching it, and sourced an original crown through her network. The watch came back looking exactly like itself, just healthier.

What impressed me most was the transparency. When they discovered that the automatic module needed more extensive work than initially anticipated, Jun-Hong called immediately with a detailed explanation and a revised estimate. I never felt like I was being sold unnecessary services. The regulation work on my Zenith chronograph is exceptionally precise — it's now keeping time better than when it was new.

I've had watches serviced at several places over the years, and Oscillum's approach is notably different. They're not trying to maximize volume — they deliberately keep their workload manageable so each piece gets proper attention. My IWC came back running beautifully, and the service documentation was more thorough than I've seen elsewhere. The timeline was realistic, not optimistic, which I appreciated.
